The European Association for the Study of obesity (EASO) aims to promote research into obesity, facilitate contact between individuals and organisations, and promote action that tackles the epidemic of obesity.

Prestigious UK title awarded to Dr Susan Jebb (EASO Treasurer 2006-2008)
We are very proud to announce that Dr Susan Jebb was awarded the OBE for services to public health in the Queen's Birthday Honours List. Based at MRC Human Nutrition Research in Cambridge, Susan is Head of Nutrition and Health Research and Past Chair of the Association for the Study of Obesity (ASO).
Dr Jebb said: “This OBE is a great honour. It is also an acknowledgement of the importance of science in improving public health and it has been a great privilege to work with so many talented people." |
18th European Congress on Obesity - Istanbul, Turkey

The EASO Executive Committee would like to congratulate the Turkish Association for the Study of Obesity whose bid to host the 18th European Congress on Obesity in Istanbul in 2011 was successful. ECO 2011 will take place from 25-28 May 2011. Further information on this ECO will be available here in due course. |
DIETS Thematic Network
EASO is a partner in the DIETS Thematic Network. DIETS is an acronym for Dietitians Improving the Education and Training Standards for dieticians across Europe. This Thematic Network already has 120 Partners from 30 European countries who all share a commitment to better nutritional health for the people of Europe. We will disseminate regular progress updates via the EASO website and e-bulletins. Further information on this project is available via an overview document and the DIETS Website. |
